The event
Our vision is to create a world-class event, building on the decade-long success and broad recognition of the Méchoui gathering. Over the years, it has grown to be the largest summer assembly of the financial community. At its 10th edition in August last year, we welcomed over 320 attendees representing a well-balanced mix of participants to the investment ecosystem of Montreal, Toronto, and beyond.
This event is now a standout in Canada, known for its unique summer setting, rich content, and distinctive format.
Looking ahead, the 11th edition will comprise two segments. The first segment will address timely and relevant industry topics/issues, providing attendees with valuable insights.
The second segment will feature the traditional Méchoui, focused on fostering and strengthening relationships among industry professionals.

The conference
Last year, FIAM introduced a new content segment before the social part of the day. This segment featured Shawn Edward, Bloomberg’s CTO, who presented their advanced research and applications of GPT/LLM models. The event, held at CDPQ, was followed by a panel discussion with senior executives from event partners including CDPQ, PSP, and Bodhi Research.
This year, our content event, under the theme of Incorporating Resilience into Institutional Portfolio, will focus on engaging Chief Investment Officers from major institutions. The discussion will center on their concerns and assessments of portfolio resilience amidst significant geopolitical and technological trends, particularly the exponential deployment of AI and its impact on society and the world investment landscape.
