Awarded annually in collaboration with CFA Montréal, the FIAM Montréal honorary award recognizes the outstanding commitment of a woman who contributes to the advancement of the profession, demonstrates inspiring leadership, and actively supports the next generation of women in the field. This year, that honour goes to Hind Abdo, CFA.
For those who know her, this recognition comes as no surprise.
For more than 17 years, Hind, founder and principal consultant at Facultas – Risques Services Conseils, has put her expertise in risk management, governance, and sustainable finance to work for the organizations she serves. But beyond her professional accomplishments, it is above all her constant drive to share her knowledge, improve practices, and support others that sets her contributions apart.
Her career speaks for itself. A CFA charterholder with numerous other professional certifications, she continually pursues her professional development to stay at the forefront of her field. That same rigour carries through into her volunteer work, where she helps build stronger organizations and supports the growth of the people within them.
A Lasting Contribution to CFA Montréal
A CFA Montréal volunteer since 2023, Hind first joined the programming committee for the Innovation in Finance event before being elected to the Board of Directors, where she now sits on the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
In this role, she has led the development of key governance tools, including a financial management and controls guide, a risk self-assessment guide, and a reserve management policy. Work that continues to strengthen the association’s governance today.
Expertise in Service of Others
For Hind, volunteering is a natural extension of her personal values and her desire to support both the advancement of women in finance and the strengthening of organizations.
Over the years, she has mentored numerous women, guiding them in their professional development and leadership growth. Many of these mentoring relationships have gone on to become lasting connections well beyond the professional sphere.
Her commitment to giving back is also reflected in her involvement with the Cégep de Rosemont Foundation, where she lends her expertise to support student success, as well as her participation in a range of inclusion and charitable initiatives. She has notably contributed to the work of PSP Investments’ EID (equity, inclusion and diversity) Council, within its Indigenous Affinity Group, and has taken part in Centraide and Government of Canada workplace campaigns — reflecting her ongoing commitment to fostering inclusion, supporting communities, and advancing the profession.
“This recognition means a great deal to me. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people who generously shared their knowledge and placed their trust in me. This honour reminds me of the importance of paying it forward by putting one’s expertise to work for others: for organizations, for the next generation, and for one’s peers,” said Hind Abdo.

In presenting this award, given jointly with CFA Montréal at FIAM Montréal’s annual Méchoui, the two organizations pay tribute to an exceptional woman who devotes her expertise and time to the profession, while actively advancing the role of women in the financial industry.
